Disney Cruise Lines offers families a wealth of dining and entertainment options that will appeal to vacationers of all ages.

Disney Cruise Lines offers the perfect family vacation. Boarding the Disney Magic, located about an hour away from Walt Disney World in Port Canaveral, Florida, children, teens and adults will find a variety of activities, dining options and endless entertainment.

Disney Dining Options

Families are assigned personal waitstaff for the length of their cruise, who follow vacationers as they rotate through three unique restaurants. Guests' dining times and table numbers remain the same each night to ease seating. Lumiere's is inspired by the Beauty and the Beast movie and serves French cuisine. Parrot Cay serves Caribbean fare in an island-themed decor. While the ambiance changes from black and white to color at Animator's Palate, dining staff serve fine food. All three restaurants offer children's menus so little ones can enjoy their favorite foods too.

In addition to the three main dining rooms, Disney Magic hosts a variety of other dining options. Palo, an adult-exclusive restaurant, serves Northern Italian cuisine. Reservations are required and sell out quickly. There is a small fee per person for this dining option. Casual dining options include Topsider Buffet, Pluto's Dog House, Pinocchio's Pizzeria, Goofy's Galley and room service.

Throughout the day and night more dining experiences beckon - one will never go hungry! Children can enjoy character breakfasts or tea with Wendy Darling. Adults are invited to a champagne brunch or high tea at Palo. Families will enjoy themed dinner buffets such as Pirates in the Caribbean and It's a Small World.

On Board Entertainment

A Personal Navigator is delivered to the stateroom each afternoon detailing the events offered for the next day. The Walt Disney Theater seats nearly a thousand people and offers original shows each night. Two performances are held nightly, just after the two dinner seatings. Passengers enjoy professional entertainers in glamorous costumes in such productions as The Golden Mickeys and Twice Charmed.

The Buena Vista Theatre is an air-conditioned movie theater, perfect for getting out of the sun. Karaoke contests and live game shows, such as Mickey Mania, are held at Studio Sea, a family nightclub. For adults, there is a night club, Beat Street and Rockin' Bar D, a hot spot for dancing. Diversions and Promenade Lounge offer a quiet place to enjoy a cocktail without the kids.

There are three pools to enjoy on board. The Goofy Pool is the family pool on Deck 9 and gets covered for parties in the evening. The Mickey Pool is a water playground for kids and the Quiet Cove Pool is just for adults. Live bands and deejays play in the pool area and around the ship throughout the day and night.

Families can enjoy the Wide World of Sports Deck where activities such as basketball, volleyball and street hockey are played. Quarter Masters Arcade requires no quarters. Instead parents can pre-purchase a debit card to play arcade games.

Parties are hard to resist and there are several to choose from on the Disney Magic, starting with the Sail Away Celebration as the ship pulls out of port. Fireworks light up the night after a combination deck party and show at the Pirates in the Caribbean Deck Party.

The Disney Magic alternates every other week between Eastern Caribbean destinations and Western Caribbean Ports of Call. With so many options, it's hard to believe that families leave the comfort of the ship behind for shore excursions.
